Occupied. Ish.

It would appear that I have taken an unintentional hiatus from blogging. Whoops!! I also haven’t been engaging with social media much (posing or perusing). No real reason. I HAVE been listening to audio books verging on obsessively, for the last week…. yeah. We’ll blame that. What have I been up to? I’ve also beenContinue reading “Occupied. Ish.”

A Year of Projects: Week4

Its Sunday again. Welcome. I don’t have any big finishes. Or starts. Or much of anything. Until We Win: Fight I’m on section 3 of 5 right now. Pictured is sections 1 and 2. Plugging along to make sure my numbers are right. They are. Updated the pattern file this morning to reflect some minorContinue reading “A Year of Projects: Week4”

FO and Storm Aftermath

Yesterday afternoon Hurricane Ida moved through the area. You wouldn’t know by today’s shining sun, however the aftermath is apparent by looking at the ground. I haven’t been beyond my yard today, but regionally, there’s been a lot of property damage from rain, flooding, and tornadoes. The district closed school today; I think this isContinue reading “FO and Storm Aftermath”

A Year of Projects: Week 2

I didn’t get to work on EVERYTHING I wanted to work on this week. But guess what, I’m a going to go with the flow! Let’s focus on what I DID accomplish. Not YOP, but still an accomplishment: Yesterday I moved around some “organization” stuff in my daughter’s room. I use the word organization loosely,Continue reading “A Year of Projects: Week 2”

Shout Out!!

Its the morning before back-to-school here! The kids are so excited to go back and see friends, and learn all the new things. Back-to-school night was yesterday, and we got to see the classrooms, and meet this year’s teachers! We also got to see last year’s teachers, which was also great. The kids’ school hasContinue reading “Shout Out!!”

Year of Projects: Week 52

Wrap it up, B! Welcome! This post culminates my first year participating in YOP (Year of Projects), a Ravelry group loosely affiliated in sharing goals and accomplishments via blog for 52 consecutive weeks. The group is in its 11th year; I will participate for another year. I’m going to call my first year goal ambitious.Continue reading “Year of Projects: Week 52”

Free Pattern: Lightning Fast Hat

The Lightning Fast Hat JUST flew off my needles. On Monday: I spun and plied the yarn. On Tuesday: I set the twist and let it dry. On Wednesday: I caked it up and knit this hat. On Thursday: I shared my pattern with you! The fiber was purchased in September 2019 at the ShannendoahContinue reading “Free Pattern: Lightning Fast Hat”

Good Project Notes

In true to me fashion, I have really waited until the last minute to work on these Christmas stockings for a friend. See, I don’t generally take commissions, unless they have an open-ended timeline and creative control. These stockings fit the bill. Sometimes casually mentioning something to me sets the creative gears in my headContinue reading “Good Project Notes”

Progress Report: Socks, Blanket.

Today was not the day I envisioned. The confluence of my allergies and lack of sleep was not a good combination for doing my normal activities. But the combination was good to hang about and work on my “Say Yes to Pie” (working title??) socks. I am going to do the heels together, so I’mContinue reading “Progress Report: Socks, Blanket.”

The Plod

As a crafter, I go through fits and spurts of “excitement”. Mentally, the beginning and end of a project are the most compelling as the maker. The middle just plods along; particularly large projects. Right now, I have the beginnings of two baby blankets. I started one on Saturday, and one about an hour ago.Continue reading “The Plod”
