YOP: Y13-W1

Cobbling together sanity.

Time to start with Year of Projects, Thirteenth year edition. This is my third-ish year participating, and possibly my fourth attempt. A Year of Projects is a loosely Ravelry based collective of bloggers sharing their goals and plans for a year of creating. Its a lovely and supportive group of humans.

Lets jump into my plans for now and next year, all loosely calculated.

Loosely based on reality and realistic goals.

Yeah, its a vague one. And quite short.

Current Projects: Yes, I’ve already set myself up for success with my knit 3 sweaters and one is already on the needles. Pattern: Split neck raglan with cables flanking split. Size 6 needles. Yarn: Classic Silky Wool by Elsebeth Lavold.

Current WIP

And that’s what I have for YOP plans.

  1. Sooo good to hear from you!! I see you have gotten into spinning. That should be fun to hear about. I’m so jealous of all the spinners but so far have resisted adding the craft (and stash). Your sweater yarn looks gorgeous. I just love yarns with silk!!

    • I’ve been spinning on and off for about 13 years. I am still very much a novice, and have SO MUCH fiber begging to be spun into something. Maybe if I commit to working on it (again), I can clear out some storage space. Spun yarn definitely takes up less space than rovings.
I worked with the Silky Wool back in 2004 or 5, and its such a lovely slightly rustic feel. Being a DK with silk, it won’t be too warm to wear!

    • I’ve been sitting on this yarn for a couple of years. I have some cool tiny buttons my brother got me when he was in Spain 14 years ago. I’m thinking about adding some non-functional buttons and giving it a henley look.

  2. I love vague lists myself. Makes it easier for me to stick with a plan. I’ve been spinning a number of years but still consider myself a beginner because I spend so little time doing it. Looking forward to seeing how your plan develops this year.
