Half a Dozen Dishcloths.

And a coaster.

All Crocheted.

Lovecrafts was running a clearance sale and I picked up some random stuff. Including a “super size” ball of Sugar n’ Cream in Hot Green and a 50g ball of Deramores Studio Cotton DK in Firefly (orange). Colors that are not my jam. But for a couple dollars each, they are perfectly adequate for dishcloths. On a whim, I picked up a ball of Big Twist Cotton from Joann’s in blue speckle(?). I’m not quite sure the color because I threw out the ball band.

I used my H hook for all of them. None of these are actually patterns, I just made a chain and started working on whatever mood struck. From what I remember: Moss stitch in a square (the blue and green), star stitch (bottom left), HDC spider variation (top right), and then a FPDC on the front only every 4th stitch (center orange and green ones), and then a mitered square for the coaster. I just messed around with a 2DC staggered stitch on the all blue one. Not really a V stitch, I don’t know if it has a name. It doesn’t look as good, since it got washed with the towels (hot water and the dryer)- it shrunk.

    • AGREE! I have more dishcloths than I’ll ever wear out. Some of mine are almost 20 years old, and JUST starting to look raggedy.
My mother-in-law tends to go through them at a somewhat faster rate. I don’t have an intended recipient for most of these yet.
