Year of Projects: September 2024

Letโ€™s recycle old goals!!

Oh hi. Itโ€™s Sunday. Inspired by fellow blogger, Backstage Knits, I decided to pop into YOP.

Taken at my momโ€™s house in September 2024

Earlier this year, I started a 12-month position at the high school in my neighborhood. I thought there would be more knitting on my walks to and from work. I was mistaken. Iโ€™ve gotten a reasonable amount of crafting accomplished, but havenโ€™t shared most of it (even on Instagram). By the end of my day, Iโ€™m so sick of sitting and screens, blogging is a casualty.

Yesterday I hit up the Shenandoah Fiber Fest with my bestie. We go together most years, and itโ€™s always an expensive and glorious day. We spent too much, cackled raucously, and loved being together. Even if she claims all my yarn choices are akin to clown barf, friends are one of lifeโ€™s great joys.

A very flattering photo of us. We are unhinged.

I also made a responsible purchase, a new table top Amish style swift from Knitting Notions. Itโ€™s beautiful, and smooth, has no fiber bits to fail in a decade, and doesnโ€™t need to clamp onto anything. It fits my life and my furniture. I wound most of yesterdayโ€™s purchases ands two balls from sheep and wool back in May. I was able to start the Juniper Cowl from TL YARN.

I got cat earrings!! and a touch of sunburn.

YOP is a Ravelry based collective of bloggers- who usually make a year long plan, and share the journey. Hence: Year of Projects.

  1. Sooo good to hear all is well. Beautiful swift. Uhhh, you aren’t the only one recycling goals. I have several that I’m just admitting defeat. No point in keep reminding myself that I’m not going master brioche for another year, make felted slippers, etc.
