A Weird Thing Happened

Yesterday, I didn’t knit a stitch. Nor did I crochet or sew or embroider.

Its been a pretty atypical week, to be honest. I haven’t gotten in as much time to work on my projects as I usually do.
In the time I do have, I’ve been working on the Peablossom Special. I can’t wait to get it off the needles and BLOCKED. Its going to be spectacular.

Monday I got to babysit for my bestie. One of the best things about Monday, was it was a bit chilly, so I got to use some of my son’s old stuff to keep the baby warm. A stroller blanket and a cabled hat. He napped all but 5 minutes of our walk to Starbucks and back (about 3 miles and an hour). I needed to move and he needed to sleep. Win-win! We also watched some Sesame Street and played with toys and listened to music.

Also, having a 10 month old for the day was emotionally tiring- there is no down time with babies. Constant vigilance. It did not make me want more kids, and firmly reminded me that my two kids are just the right amount. Cementing what I already knew.

Didn’t capture a good picture of the hat body.

I was supposed to help her out Wednesday too, but MY littlest had a cough and was sent home from school on Tuesday. Which meant he needed negative COVID tests to come back. Fortunately, its just allergies or a cold. And with allergy medication AND proper nose blowing, his cough has subsided immensely.

Yesterday (Thursday) both my kids had class parties. And in true insanity fashion, I volunteered to help out with both. I had an AMAZING hair day; so I’ve decided that makes up for pretty much anything. In my daughter’s class, I had them make little bunnies out of pipe cleaner/fuzzy sticks and beads. They didn’t seem to hate it, that much.

I didn’t have enough time during the day to go specifically work out, so I just rode my bike back and forth between the school and the house for the parties. On the way back from the second party, my bike chain decided to start slipping. Which means I need to adjust it. Or take it to the bike shop so I don’t have to do it myself.

The kids are off today, so I don’t know how much knitting I’ll get in today either! They have to sleep some time, and maybe I’ll be able to stay awake long enough to finish a full pattern repeat for the shawl (fingers crossed!)
